This year’s Hugs ‘n’ Stitches will be held on Wednesday, June 21 and Thursday, June 22 from approximately 9 AM – 2 PM. Over the course of two days, girls entering grades 4-6 are introduced to the art of sewing by the women of Lakewood and have the opportunity to practice their newly learned skills by constructing two projects.
The girls get to keep the first project for themselves; it will hopefully be something they experienced a lot of satisfaction in creating. The second serves as a “mission project,” an item to be given away. It provides an opportunity for the girls to bless others by using their skills to make lovely, practical gifts for someone in need.
As great as the projects are, they are not the only goal of the day camp. The process of developing relationships across the generations and the sharing of faith stories are as much a part of Hugs ‘n’ Stitches as the instruction in sewing techniques.
We would love to have you join us for this absolutely delightful time!
