Join us as we introduce you to Computer Aided Design (CAD) and specifically the powerful modeling software, DSS Solidworks. Solidworks is the premier CAD modeling program and students will be introduced to the tool, have the opportunity to create and draw in 3D Design, learn tips and solutions to common difficulties for young designers, how to simulate their product virtually and then understand what it takes to print their model with a 3D Printer using additive manufacturing!
Students with Solidworks experience will gain more and learn from our staff, one of whom was named a "Solidworks Prodigy". All students will be encouraged to work towards completing the certification exam and become involved in the local Solidworks User Group - awarded the top group in the nation in 2017!
Every student will leave with their own copy of the FREE software valued at over $1,000 once they have completed the class. Solidworks skills have real‐world implications that will help young engineers and designers become leaders in innovation and find rapid career success even before they enter college!
While we have a few computers to lend, this class is most effective if a student has their own computer to use that they load Solidworks onto prior to class (and give yourself plenty of time to do this as it is a LARGE program). The program is not made to work with Apple computers (yet... they are working on this).
Class will be held M-F from 9am- 12 noon, August 1-3, 2018
