The Prep Academy at the APAA is designed to prepare youth for the ACADEMY program at the APAA, which is an individualized pre-professional/pre-collegiate performing arts conservatory, for artists committed to deepening their performing arts education in American Musical Theatre through two primary components: The Professional Performing Arts Classroom and Professionally Produced Theatre for Young Artists.
The Prep Academy accepts students from 1st-5th grade. After fifth grade, prep students may go on to participate in our Academy Program, which is also nationally recognized.
The Prep Academy will be presenting Frozen Jr with the Community Students students this year as part of their fall Professional Produced Theatre. In the Spring, they will be presenting the Matilda Experience with the community students. This production will have a showcase in May with the opportunity to perform on stage at the Diana Wortham Theatre in June with our Academy students.
Along with their classes and performances, the Prep Academy students will be traveling to Greenville, SC to participate in a musical theatre workshop with other theatre programs and see the first national tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
The cost for the Prep Academy program is $2,000 a year with a $150 registration fee. The payment can be broken up into the following ways:
Payment in full ($300 off of tuition and fee ) - $1,850
2 payments (no registration fee) - $1,000 per semester
Monthly payment agreement $150 registration fee and
10 monthly payments of $200*
A down payment of $200 is required upon completing this form. $150 of the down payment will be deducted from your child's first invoice while the remaining $50 will go to purchasing rights for shows.
